We visited Meanwhile Brewing Co on a Sunday afternoon, after spending the morning swimming at McKinney Falls State Park. It was the perfect chill atmosphere and such a fun place to bring the kids. Here’s why we love this local brewery.
#1 The Patio
Meanwhile Brewing has an expansive tree-covered patio, making it perfect for warm summer days. You’ve got it made in the shade while you sip craft beers and watch the kids run around and play.
#2 The Playground
There’s a playground! Kids can play and climb and meet new friends while you relax at your table. The playground is right in the center of it all, making it easy to keep an eye on the kids from any table you choose.
#3 The Beer
The beer here is really good. So is the frosé on a hot summer day!
#4 The Food Trucks
When you get hungry, Meanwhile has some amazing food truck options. The three main one are the Austin Trifecta: taco, BBQ, and pizza. We ordered something from all three and they were all delicious. You can’t go wrong!
#5 The Soccer Field
We brought a soccer ball and sent the kids to go play out on the turf field when they got tired of the playground. They even made some new friends playing soccer! It’s a nice little space for kids to run around on.
Austin Active Kids Opinion
This was such a fun place to spend a few hours after hiking on a Sunday. And the fact that it’s right here in town and you don’t have to drive very far to get there is such a bonus!
Outing Time
We were there for about two hours. Enough time to drink, eat, and play/relax.
Reminders
Bring a soccer ball for the kids. Bring your dogs if you’d like! This brewery is very close to McKinney Falls State Park, making it a great pair if you’re planning your day! They are also a coffee shop!
