Playground at The Triangle (Central Austin)

December 28, 2019

For an easy adventure that can be combined with a meal at Mandola’s or some pottery painting at Café Monet, stop by the playground and splash pad in Austin’s centrally-located Triangle.

The playground in The Triangle is small but works well as an add-on to any Hyde Park outing with kids. There is free parking nearby, the play area is enclosed on three sides, and there are restaurants within walking distance (Maudie’s, Mama Fu’s, and Mandola’s).

Plus, there’s shade! So, even on a toasty Texas day, this isn’t a bad place to hang out.

In addition to the playground, the park boasts two bocce courts and a large, brick splash pad.

The kicker is that the splash pad only operates in summer months, and often not even then. It’s not very reliable and there is no schedule. So, it’s best not to count on that one.

If this playground doesn’t feel big enough for your crew, head five minutes away to the much larger Ramsey Park.
